A woman from Missouri has shared her experience with using OpenAI’s chatbot, ChatGPT, during her journey through In-Vitro Fertilization (IVF). Contrary to her instructions to the fertility clinic, the gender of her embryos was revealed by the AI. She had uploaded a report from the clinic to the chatbot, which had the X and Y chromosome information blacked out, for insights on the other data. However, the chatbot was able to ‘see’ the blacked out information and revealed the gender of the embryos. Despite this incident, the woman continues to find the chatbot useful in her IVF journey, providing her with helpful insights and information. However, she advises caution when uploading sensitive documents to the chatbot.
