A recent report from Capgemini and LIMRA, titled the ‘World Life Insurance Report 2026’, has found that individuals under 40 are increasingly skipping life insurance in favour of other benefits. The report suggested that the delay in traditional life milestones like marriage and parenthood is causing younger people to overlook life insurance. Instead, they are seeking immediate benefits such as emergency financial support, wellness rewards and coverage for fertility treatments. The report further stated that life insurers need to innovate and demonstrate relevance to younger policyholders, and suggested that offering coverage for fertility treatments could be one such way.
